Travel Insurance for Contractors

The costs associated with travel, particularly disrupted air travel can be substantial. Add to this the cost of hotel accommodation which is prepaid and where the disruption to your travel plans occurs after the point at which you are able to cancel the accommodation and very quickly the costs start to mount up.

In my experience the most cost effective approach to funding travel insurance is to purchase one policy for a full year which covers all business and leisure travel. This approach is cheaper than buying policies to cover individual trips on a piecemeal basis.

In addition it is much more convenient not to have to worry about arranging separate travel insurance for each business trip.

It is reassuring to know that you can accept an assignment that may require you to travel overseas and that you have a comprehensive travel insurance policy in place already.

Cover is available for individuals, couples or whole families. The Business element of cover typically just applies to the main named policyholder.

A typical policy allows for multiple trips abroad either on business or for holidays with a maximum duration of 90 days for each trip.
